Filing for divorce in Utah requires that you live in the county where you plan to file for three months prior to filing the paperwork.

Typically divorces take one of two forms:

Uncontested divorces — Where the parties can agree on everything prior to trial and no litigation is required.
Contested divorces — Where the parties cannot agree on some or all issues and the case must be taken before a judge who will make the final decision.
